We are committed to empowering young people through practical work experience and mentorship. Our internship program is designed to expose our interns to the various aspects of the Commission’s work and to legislative activity in our state. Part of the lifeblood of our commission, interns and volunteers help carry out the mission of the CWCS.
What would I do at the CWCS?
Intern projects can include (but are not limited to):
♦ Writing, editing, and updating our publications
♦ Drafting legislative fact sheets
♦ Researching, charting, and writing research briefs
Internships at the CWCS may be especially beneficial for undergraduate students interested in:
- Women’s Studies
- Political Science
- Psychology
- Children and Family Studies
Internship are also beneficial for graduate students interested in:
- Law school
- Social Work
- Public Policy
When can I work with the CWCS?
Although we are willing to work with any individual and his or her scheduling needs, we find that our internships typically mirror a semester schedule. Therefore, students usually intern for one semester, either in the fall, spring, or summer. Internship are only available during regular working hours. Evening and weekend hours are not currently offered.
